It’s Been a Busy Couple of Weeks

The past couple of weeks have been very busy.  One of the biggest things that happened was that we put my father in-law in a nursing home.  I posted earlier that he has alzheimers.  He had been living with my sister in-law.  It got to where she couldn't take care of him anymore.  It was the hardest thing for my husband (Danny) and his sister to do.  You never think you would put your parents in nursing home.  Thankfully, he was able to afford a very nice one.   They haven't been allowed to see him yet.  Monday they plan on going for the first time.  I figure that will be a very hard day also.

We had a gospel meeting with RJ Stevens this past week.  It was a very good week.  RJ was the preacher where my family attended when I was 4 and 5 years old.  He is also an excellent hymn writer.  He helped me work on some hymns I have written.  Every night I took him a song.  He told me how to improve it.  I took it home and fixed what I could, then took it back the following night.  He was very patient with me and I learned an awful lot.

Wednesday morning, he came to the house and gave 3 of my boys a lesson in song leading.  It was also very nice.  I look forward to them growing in that area as time goes by.

Friday morning the local high school had a Veteran's Day program.  They have it every and we never miss it. It is excellent.  This year, our home school barbershop chorus sang in the program and then sang at the USO type hotdog lunch in the commons area.

My son James also played the piano at the lunch.
