I think motherhood was intended to teach us patience. Patience with kids, our husbands and ourselves. There are times that I want instant recognition or instant proof that what I'm doing is productive. It all takes patience. As we home school our kids we need to keep this in mind. Their learning doesn't happen overnight. In fact, it takes their entire childhood. I'm in the position to see both sides. I've got a 19 year old that has left our home and a 2 year old that is still in diapers. As I deal with the 2 year old, it helps to be reminded that my 19 year old didn't grow up overnight. Day to day, consistent and loving work got him where he's at. And we can rest assured that as we are learning patience, God is patient with us.
This has been on mind a lot lately.
I even put a bulletin board up in my Bible class about it:
I love this bulletin board. I think I’m going to make a mini-poster with my kiddos pictures…I’ll hang it on my fridge! Thanks for the idea!!
